Thin Space

s p a c e

Some characters may not display on all devices or platforms.

Most apps ignore the extra space. A wide text generator inserts Unicode separators between letters so a short word stretches across the line. This tool keeps normal Latin glyphs and adds thin space, three-per-em space, or a visible symbol in aesthetic mode. Type `space` to preview s t a n d a r d letters with air between them. Copy, paste, save. The field decides what survives.

What is a wide text generator?

A wide text generator joins normal Latin letters with Unicode space separators so a short phrase spreads across the screen. Thin space U+2009 adds a subtle gap. Three-per-em U+2004 opens the row further. Aesthetic mode places a visible symbol between each letter. The glyphs stay standard. Only the gaps change.

Example: typing space with thin space selected produces s t a n d a r d with U+2009 between every character. The line looks wider without swapping fonts or replacing letters with fullwidth code points.

How do you copy spaced Unicode text?

Type your phrase, pick a spacing mode, preview the stretched line, then copy. Thin space is the default gap. Three-per-em opens the row further. Aesthetic mode places a symbol like a star between each letter. Paste into your target field and reopen it after save to see whether the platform kept the separators.

  1. Type visible text into the input box. The demo fills it with `space` so you see thin gaps on a short word immediately.
  2. Choose Thin Space for subtle air, Three-Per-Em for a wider row, or Aesthetic for a visible symbol between letters.
  3. Adjust the aesthetic separator character if you want a dot, star, or other glyph instead of the default.
  4. Click Copy to place the spaced Unicode string on your clipboard.
  5. Paste into a bio or caption, save, and reopen the field to confirm the gaps survived.

Which spacing character fits which field?

Thin space is the lightest gap for bios that need air without burning the character counter. Three-per-em reads wider on desktop. Ideographic space U+3000 matches East Asian typography width. Aesthetic symbols survive paste filters that strip invisible separators. Pick the gap that matches how much room you have and how strict the field is.

Where does wide spacing survive pasting?

Wide spaced Unicode survives in fields that store full UTF-8 and skip aggressive whitespace normalization: bios, chat messages, and caption boxes. It fails when clients collapse repeated spaces or strip format characters from searchable handles. Paste, save, and reopen before you assume the gaps stuck.

Does thin space work in Instagram bios?

Instagram bios count every separator toward the 150-character cap. Thin and three-per-em spaces usually render in profile view when the line sits on its own row. Mixing spaced text with hashtags on the same line can make the editor normalize gaps. Keep wide copy on a dedicated bio line for the cleanest result.

Why does wide text collapse on some platforms?

Many signup forms and username fields collapse thin Unicode spaces into a single regular space or remove them entirely on save. The composer can look correct while the stored string is plain text. Aesthetic symbol mode survives more often because each gap is a visible character. If thin space vanishes after you refresh, switch modes or accept that the field blocks invisible separators.

Is wide text the same as vaporwave text?

Vaporwave fullwidth text replaces each letter with a wide glyph and feels retro in one step. Wide spacing keeps normal Latin shapes and stretches the row with gaps instead. Vaporwave uses the same character count as your source. Wide spacing multiplies length because every separator counts. Try both when you want air: fullwidth for mall-sign density, spaced Latin for readable letters with room between them.

What should you expect from spaced Unicode?

Separators count. Platforms normalize them.

Wide text is useful in display fields where you want aesthetic air between readable letters. It is a poor fit for searchable handles because mention indexes need plain ASCII tokens. Separators consume character limits faster than the preview suggests: a five-letter word with thin space between each letter needs nine code points, not five. Screen readers may pause at every gap, which makes long spaced bios rough for accessibility even when sighted users see the rhythm.

The clipboard holds real Unicode. The server keeps whatever passed validation. Copy freely, confirm on save, and do not build an identity out of gaps a moderation pipeline was built to flatten.

What people ask about spaced text

What is a wide text generator?

A wide text generator inserts Unicode spaces or symbols between each letter of your input to stretch a line across the screen. You type a phrase, choose a spacing mode, and copy the result. Letters stay normal while gaps create an aesthetic spaced look in bios and captions.

Is this wide text generator free?

Yes. This wide text generator is free with no signup, watermarks, or limits on how many spaced strings you create. Spacing runs entirely in your browser without sending text to a server or storing phrases after you close the tab.

How is wide spacing different from vaporwave fullwidth text?

Wide spacing keeps standard Latin letters and adds separators between them. Vaporwave fullwidth replaces each character with a wider Unicode glyph in the Fullwidth Forms block. Spaced text often reads more clearly on desktop because the letter shapes stay familiar. Fullwidth text feels more compact and more retro.

Why did my spaces disappear after paste?

Apps often collapse repeated spaces or strip thin Unicode separators in usernames and strict profile fields. Aesthetic symbol mode survives more often because visible characters sit between letters. If spacing vanishes after save, switch modes or shorten the phrase. The platform decides what counts as whitespace, not the generator.

Can you use wide text in a username?

Some Discord servers and social display names allow spaced Unicode in nicknames. Spaced usernames burn through character limits and are tedious to type. Paste your wide name, save, and count characters including separators. Keep a compact plain alias for friends who need to mention you.

Is there a character limit for wide text?

Separators count toward platform limits. A five-letter word with aesthetic stars can exceed Discord's 32-character nickname cap. Instagram allows 150 characters in bios, TikTok 80. This tool does not stop you, but short inputs look better and fit more services.
