What is wildstyle graffiti?
Wildstyle grew out of 1970s New York, where writers like Tracy 168 and crews like the Rolling Thunder Writers started bending letters past the point of easy reading. Arrows, spikes, connections and overlapping shapes turned names into puzzles. It's still considered the most technical style, because the letters have to work underneath all the decoration.
How the wildstyle generator works
Every letter gets its own random rotation, height shift and scale, controlled by the Wildness slider. Negative spacing makes neighbours overlap, a two-tone outline fuses them into one mass, and the arrow toggle adds flourishes to the first and last letter. Hit the dice to re-roll the randomness. Each roll is a different piece.
Making it look more authentic
- Use a gradient fill with two strong colors, like pink to yellow or lime to cyan.
- Keep a dark inner outline and a light outer outline. That's the classic "cut out" look.
- Add 3D depth in a dark color that clashes with the fill.
- A little overspray (Spray dust around 30–50%) makes it feel painted rather than printed.
