How to Write Your Name in Bubble Letters
Bubble letters are the most popular way to decorate a name, for notebooks, posters, birthday signs and bedroom doors. Your name is short, so it is a perfect first project.
Step by step
- Write your name in pencil, using simple thin letters with space between them.
- Draw a round outline around each letter, like you are inflating it.
- Let each letter overlap the next one slightly. Decide which letter sits in front.
- Erase the original thin letters and any lines hidden by overlaps.
- Trace the outline in black marker.
- Color, then add a shine mark on each letter.
Tips for tricky names
- Long names: shrink the letters and overlap more, or put the name on two lines.
- Letters with holes (A, B, D, O, P, R): keep the hole small, or the letter looks thin.
- Repeated letters: make them match exactly, so the name looks planned.
Color ideas
Use one color per letter for a playful look, or one color with a fade for a cleaner style. A dark outline makes any color pop. See color schemes for combos.
