How to Make 3D Text Online (Free, No Software)
You don't need Blender, Photoshop or a design degree to get bold 3D lettering. For thumbnails, logos and social posts, a browser tool gets you there in a couple of minutes.
Step by step
- Open the 3D text generator.
- Type two or three words. Short text gives bigger letters.
- Pick a blocky font: Bungee, Anton or Black Ops One extrude cleanly.
- Set 3D depth between 20 and 40 and the angle between 30° and 60°.
- Choose a bright face color and a darker, contrasting side color.
- Add an inner outline for crisp edges.
- Choose Transparent background and download the PNG, or SVG for print.
Color combos that pop
| Face | Side | Vibe |
|---|---|---|
| Lime | Hot pink | Gaming, streetwear |
| White | Electric blue | Clean, techy |
| Yellow | Black | Bold, warning-sign |
| Chrome | Dark grey | Retro, 80s |
Making it thumbnail-ready
Thumbnails are tiny. Use thick outlines, high depth and a drop shadow, then place the PNG over your image in Canva or Photoshop.
2D extrusion vs real 3D
These tools make a 2D image with a 3D effect, perfect for screens and print. For 3D printing you'd need a mesh from a 3D modeling app instead.
