Best Bubble Fonts (Free) and How to Use Them
A "bubble font" is any typeface with fat, rounded strokes and soft corners. On their own they look friendly. Add a thick outline, squeeze the letters together and drop a highlight on top, and they become proper bubble letters.
Six free bubble fonts worth knowing
- Fredoka is round, clean and very readable. The best all-rounder.
- Titan One is extra heavy, almost cartoon-like. Great for throw-up style.
- Luckiest Guy has a bouncy, comic-book feel.
- Rubik Bubbles has the bubble outline built into every letter.
- Londrina Solid is tall and condensed, so it fits long words.
- Chewy is hand-drawn and playful, good for kids' material.
What makes a good bubble font?
Look for consistent stroke weight, small counters (the holes inside letters like O and A), and rounded terminals. Small counters matter more than people think: they make the letters feel inflated rather than outlined.
From bubble font to bubble letters
Typing in a bubble font gives you rounded letters, but not the full look. The bubble letter generator adds negative spacing so letters overlap, a thick outer outline that fuses them into one shape, a 3D edge and a shine highlight, then exports a PNG or SVG.
